Shipping & Returns

A working draft. This describes how orders are meant to ship and the all-sales-final policy, but it hasn't been through a legal review yet. Please have a professional look it over, and confirm the processing times and ship-from details, before launch.

Everything here is made or curated in small batches, by hand, on the Gulf Coast. A little honesty up front, so there are no surprises at checkout: all sales are final. Please read on for exactly how shipping works and what that means.

The short version: all sales are final

Because the handmade drops are made in small, limited runs and the patterns are digital, I don't offer returns, exchanges, or refunds. When you place an order, please treat it as final. I've tried to make every product page as clear as I can — sizes, materials, what's included — so you can buy with confidence. If anything's unclear before you order, email me and I'll happily help.

The monthly drop (physical goods)

Handmade goods are released in a monthly drop and made in limited quantities — when they're gone, they're gone until a future drop. Here's how yours reaches you:

• Processing: orders are packed and shipped within a few business days of the drop closing. Because these are handmade in batches, please allow a little grace during a busy drop.
• Shipping rates: calculated live at checkout based on your address and what's in your cart, so you always see the real cost before you pay.
• Where I ship: across the United States. You'll get tracking by email as soon as your order is on its way.
• Addresses: please double-check your shipping address at checkout — I can't be responsible for orders sent to an address entered incorrectly.

Digital patterns

Printable PDF sewing patterns are delivered instantly — a download link lands in your inbox right after checkout, so nothing ships and there's no wait. Because a digital file can't be returned once it's been sent, pattern sales are final and non-refundable. The good news: most patterns have a free tutorial here on the journal, so you can get a real feel for the make before you buy the printable version.

Mixed orders

Buying a pattern and a handmade item together works fine — shipping is only ever charged on the physical goods, and your pattern still arrives instantly by email.

If something arrives damaged or lost

All sales being final doesn't mean I'll leave you stranded. If your order shows up damaged, or it's lost in transit, email me at bourntocreate@gmail.com within 7 days of delivery (or the expected delivery date) with your order number and a photo of any damage. I'll do everything I reasonably can to make it right — a replacement when one's available, or help filing a claim with the carrier.

Trouble with a download?

If a pattern link won't open or the file won't download, that's on me to fix, not a reason you're stuck — email bourntocreate@gmail.com and I'll get you a working copy right away.
