Hey, I’m Sarah.
I’m a Memphis girl who moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2020 with my husband Marshall — for a little land, a slower pace, and, it turns out, an unreasonable number of chickens.
For years I built things out of wood and shared every step online. Somewhere between projects, the sewing machine won. These days I design patterns you can print at home, teach workshops around the Coast, write a monthly DIY column for Gulf Coast Woman, and keep a journal of whatever the homestead is up to.
Same hands, softer materials. Stick around — there’s a lot to make.
The unpaid staff
The homestead runs on a small, unpaid staff. Meet the department heads — Marshall, as ever, is behind the camera.
Notes from the coop
One easy email — new patterns, upcoming workshops, and whatever the chickens did this week.
You’re in — the chickens will be thrilled.
